Travel Escapism — that feels more like Reality

So, you’re off to another adventure? I can relate.

Is this your 3rd go around? Did your feet touch the soil before you booked another one? Or were you still in the air when you hit SEND on that new flight reservation? Ha. Yes, it’s a thing.

One might think that a person living this way is up to something…or not much of anything. However, it is far from the truth. The nomadic way of living has been around for ages, much like animals migrating in Season, travelers tend to relocate from place to place as a reflection of where they are in their mind and heart space. One’s birthplace or hometown isn’t meant to be the final fate of their life’s journey forever. In fact, it’s getting away from “the norm” that causes our wits to be tested. In new places, where more is out of our control — spontaneous and unexpected than not. Our senses are heightened and the zeal for adventure and joy is just thought away.

Let’s revisit this — conditioning. Much of our youth, adolescence, teen, and young adult years are spent in preparation — for life. We are staged in classes, formats, assessments, and programs that measure our aptitude for success based on the findings, brilliance, and or genius of someone else….who is no longer with us. “…why do we seek the Living amongst, the dead?”. We are meant to come to our own conclusions and let the left teach us more than any textbook ever could.

Some travel to volunteer, others travel to take in the sun, there are those who need to feel a part of the culture, while others who’d rather remain secluded on a resort escaping life as they know.

But…it seems more like reality than anything because it's the life where you get to actually do you — be you.

As an Artist, Writer & Content Creator I can relate. My getaways allow me to study, research and grow in peace — at a pace that caters to my needs and not the other way around.

Bliss.

Travel Medicine | Therapy + Mental Health Retreat

I realized... touching down, when the wheels hit the pavement safely + the pilot turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign, then and only then do I feel a sigh of relief. "I made it back to Land!", I think to myself.  The rest.... well--*SIGH* That feeling of being a foreigner in my humble abode. I couldn't shake it. Besides my seeing Mother loving face, I can't shake the anxiety of knowing that society carries a prize on my head, waiting to be swiped by Uncle Sam at any given moment, side-eyed or question for my motives in life...the rush and sense of urgency of knowing that time is ticking and my Free Creative + Butterfly Life will soon be out of season all because of my Age.  Can you believe that? Says, who. Remember Millennials do it differently. As fate would have it, I lost my vehicle to a car accident back in the Fall of 2021. It also happened to be the 3rd time, I was moving in a Year, during the Pandemic. I decided to take things for what they were -- and seize t...

DELTA. & the Future is Female

Trust me Friends. Who you choose to give your business to for travel makes all the difference. It was my first time flying Delta First Class--my travel partner Krystal managed to hook me when she showed me how the airlines was going to great lengths to create space between passengers on flight. The middle seats were completely blocked off and even better we were in-flight with some of the best Customer Service I've had yet. The attentiveness, sincerity and kind tone in flight attendants voice makes one enjoy and relax. Read more about it here:  What Delta does... On the way there we sat in front of a newly wedded couple. They could've been headed to St. John, one out of the 3 islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands that was known as the "the love location" for its scenic view, lushes waters and array of resort hotels built on the land.  The flight was smooth, from an early morning departure in Baltimore--a quick leg in Atlanta and then touching down in St. John. There'...
