Review -
I actually heard the song before I saw any visuals, video or performance.
but immediately, I felt seen as a Woman - especially as a woman of color...we know all too well what it means to be “tired” or “fed” up whether with disturbances within family or in the home, on the job or in one’s community - power of spoken word will always override negative talk, backbiting and gossip.
This is why I've stated - “…Terri Lyons understood the Assignment”.

She among the other contenders for the the Calypso Monarch crown performed her song over the course of several rounds at different locations, each time coming with a different approach, set design, supporting performers.
-but, it was the Queens Park Savannah at Grand Stand where Terri took the crown during her award winning performance of “Blessing” with a humble yet bold demonstration of Trinbagonian pride, love and a message of peace and unity for all to see.
She took up the mantle of delivering us a message through the power of storytelling and song with what felt like a prophetic anchor - making it evident that she not only deserved to win the competition but that her song would take its place in Trinidad and Tobago's musical archive that feels timeless, riveting and holy.
