This Fall we are coming together as the Small World that we are....to connect to our Greater Dance Community in the US Virgin Islands. After the devastation of Hurricane Irma in 2017, the course of civilians lives were changed, homes, business and roadways were destroyed and all that is left today is hope that the people have to carry on and the courage that it takes to start a new life.                                       The International Blacks in Dance Association received a call for help from Director of Music in Motion School of Higher Dance Education, Sharlita Schuster: requesting organizations to contribute to their efforts to restore and rebuild what was lost from the disaster.  We as a community, in the DC Metropolitan area are responding to that call by being of service and giving all that we can. I think Gil Scott Heron got it right when he said, "The Revolution will not be Televised". This evening's performance was one not to be missed. As a dancer in the DC Metropolitan area, I have the pleasure of knowing a few of these great dancer's personally who graced the stage with their AfroDance Magic.... However, I got to see them in a new light-one that makes me to understand why they are such spectacular dancers. The energy was palpable from beginning to end, the story line was uniquely designed to educate the audience on the legacy, history, and presence of AfroDance the costumes were vibrant and attractive and of course the music was a non-stop party. Expectant Mother, Dancer, Reiki Naturalista, and Certified Notary-- Ms. Beverly Hunter came in for her first experience with GYROKINESIS® with theGKBabe. She was greeted with the sounds of Native American Flute and a smile as she filled out her intake form at the Elements Wellness Center Studio. Now in her final trimester of pregnancy she is finally coming to glacial pace whereas she can prepare to deliver her first child. She comes with a good report of have already having strength, endurance and a pain-free preganancy course taking part in such as activities as Yoga, Reiki, Meditation and regular walking.
